Can I get an extension to file my tax return?
All taxpayers receive an automatic extension of six months to file a tax return. However, there is no extension granted for payment of taxes. Penalties and interest will apply unless a prepayment is made on or before April 15 of either 90% of the current year's tax or 100% of the prior year's tax.
